AD18 operates under a freemium posting model as described below.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "Poster," "Visitor," or "you") and ad18.ca ("AD18," "the Platform," "we," "us," or "our").
By accessing, registering for, browsing, posting on, reposting, or purchasing services through the Platform, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms, our Acceptable Use Policy, Refund Policy, Privacy Policy, ID Verification Policy, and any other policies referenced on the Platform.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Platform.
You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, or the age of majority in your province or territory, whichever is greater, to use the Platform.
To post ads, you must create an account using a valid email address and provide any required account information, including date of birth confirmation. Your public username may be visible to other users. Your legal name, date of birth, billing records, and verification information are handled according to our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
You may not create or use multiple accounts to evade bans, duplicate ads, manipulate Platform features, bypass moderation, abuse promotions, obtain extra free ads, or avoid enforcement actions.
We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts at our discretion for violations of these Terms, Platform policies, or applicable law.
AD18 operates as an online freemium classifieds and advertising platform that allows users to post, browse, repost, and purchase eligible paid ad services.
AD18 does not arrange, negotiate, broker, endorse, supervise, or guarantee any services, goods, listings, users, or transactions advertised through the Platform. Any communications, arrangements, or transactions that occur outside the Platform are solely between users.
The Platform is intended for lawful use in Canada. Users outside Canada are responsible for ensuring their access and use is lawful in their location.
Each account may have one active free base ad at a time. The free base ad term is thirty (30) days unless AD18 expressly states otherwise.
When a free base ad expires, the user may Repost the expired ad or delete it and create a new free base ad, provided the account remains eligible and does not already have an active free base ad.
A second active ad, concurrent ad, or any listing beyond the free base ad allowance is a paid service where available.
Paid upgrades, boosts, featured placement, premium visibility, and other paid enhancements are not included with the free base ad. Where enabled, upgrades may be purchased from the user dashboard after the ad exists.
Base ads are generally thirty (30) days at launch unless AD18 expressly states otherwise. Other base ad terms are not offered unless AD18 expressly states otherwise.
AD18 may limit, delay, refuse, charge for, or remove posts or Reposts where we detect abuse, duplicate accounts, policy evasion, suspicious activity, technical abuse, or compliance risk.
The Platform may only be used for lawful advertising and classifieds purposes.
The following are strictly prohibited:
Advertising or facilitating sexual services is prohibited, including conduct prohibited under Canadian law, including the Protection of Communities and Exploited Persons Act.
AD18 strictly prohibits all forms of human trafficking, sexual exploitation, non-consensual content, coercion, fraud, abuse, or endangerment.
All content posted on the Platform must involve lawful activity only. Where content includes or references adults, all individuals must be adults, must have participated willingly, and must have provided valid consent.

All users must confirm they are 18+ before using the Platform. Identity verification is optional at launch but may be required for certain users, categories, risk reviews, suspected abuse, compliance checks, or future Platform features.
Certain categories may require additional confirmations or compliance acknowledgements before posting where required for safety, moderation, payment, or legal reasons.
We reserve the right to remove content, restrict accounts, suspend users, preserve records, or report suspected exploitation, trafficking, minors, or imminent harm to law enforcement or other appropriate authorities. Reports of harm, exploitation, or illegal activity should be sent immediately to support@ad18.ca.
New ads and Reposts may be reviewed using automated tools, manual review, keyword filtering, image scanning, fraud detection, user reports, or other moderation systems.
Clean ads may publish automatically. Ads that are flagged may be held for review and shown to the poster as pending, rejected, hidden, restricted, or removed.
Trusted users may receive faster publishing based on posting history and prior compliance. Verified users may receive a Verified badge and may receive faster publishing, but verification does not guarantee publication. All ads remain subject to automated scanning, manual review, moderation, and removal.
Uploaded images may be watermarked, resized, converted, and scanned for prohibited material.
Users may report ads they believe violate Platform rules. Ads may remain live while under review unless flagged for serious risk, including suspected exploitation, minors, fraud, illegal content, or safety concerns.
We may deny, suspend, shadowban, restrict, remove, or refuse any ad or account at any time, with or without notice, where we believe it violates these Terms, our policies, applicable law, payment processor requirements, or Platform safety standards.
Shadowbanned or restricted content may remain visible to the poster while hidden from other users. Appeals may be submitted through the Platform support process. Final discretion remains with AD18.
Ads must be posted in the correct category and subcategory.
At launch, pricing fields may be restricted or disabled in categories where prices are not appropriate for the listing type, including Local Groups & Activities and Creative & Marketing Services. Other permitted categories may allow price fields where lawful and appropriate, including Buy & Sell, Local Services, Jobs & Gigs, Events & Local Experiences, and Digital Services & Remote Help.
Users may not place prices, rates, coded pricing, payment terms, phone numbers, email addresses, social handles, external links, or contact details inside ad titles or descriptions where the Platform provides dedicated fields or restricts those details.
Contact information, where allowed, must be entered only in the dedicated contact section. AD18 may remove, redact, block, or reject attempts to bypass this rule.
The free base ad allowance does not include paid upgrades, paid additional active ads, paid premium visibility, paid featured placement, paid boosts, or other paid services.
Card payments may be processed by CCBill or another approved card processor where available. Cryptocurrency payments may be processed by CoinPayments or another approved crypto payment provider where available.
Payment availability may vary by region, processor approval, technical availability, category, currency, or risk review.
Payments are processed by third-party providers. AD18 does not store full card numbers, private keys, or full payment credentials.
Applicable GST, HST, and/or QST may be calculated based on the user's province or territory, and shown at checkout or on invoices where required.
Interac e-Transfer and PayPal are not supported unless expressly added by AD18 in the future.
All paid purchases are final unless otherwise stated in the Refund Policy or required by law.
Refunds, account credits, free ad restoration, Repost adjustments, or other remedies are only available in limited circumstances, such as duplicate charges, verified fraud, overpayment, or Platform fault, as described in the Refund Policy.
Because free base ads are provided without charge, they do not create a cash refund entitlement. Where AD18 confirms a Platform fault affecting a free base ad, AD18 may, at its discretion, restore the ad, extend visibility, allow a Repost, or provide another non-cash remedy.
Where a paid remedy is approved, AD18 may issue account credit by default unless an original-method refund is required by law, required by a payment processor, or approved by AD18 at its discretion.
Refunds are not provided for user error, incorrect category selection, mistaken purchases, ads removed for policy violations, expired ads, low engagement, or failure to comply with these Terms or Platform policies.
We collect and process personal information necessary to operate, secure, moderate, improve, and comply with legal obligations relating to the Platform.
This may include account information, date of birth confirmation, ad content, images, contact fields, free ad allowance status, Repost history, payment records, invoices, support tickets, moderation records, reports, audit logs, and optional identity verification information.
Use of the Platform is subject to our Privacy Policy. Users may request access, correction, export, or deletion of their personal information, subject to lawful retention requirements for tax, payment, fraud prevention, moderation, safety, legal, and compliance purposes.
Account deletion may result in account anonymization while certain records, such as invoices, payment records, audit logs, support records, or moderation records, may be retained where legally or operationally required.
We may suspend, restrict, disable, or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms, Platform policies, payment processor requirements, or applicable law.
Repeat violations, fraud, exploitation, evasion, abuse of the free ad allowance, or circumvention attempts may result in permanent termination.
We may preserve records, cooperate with processors, investigate abuse, reverse credits, restrict posting, remove ads, limit free ad eligibility, or report unlawful activity to appropriate authorities.
Sections relating to payments, refunds, privacy, moderation, enforcement, limitation of liability, indemnity, records, and governing law survive account termination.
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available."
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AD18 disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of availability, accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, non-infringement, or uninterrupted service.
AD18 is not responsible for user-generated content, off-platform communications, off-platform transactions, third-party payment processors, third-party links, third-party services, user conduct, or losses resulting from reliance on listings.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AD18 is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or economic damages, including lost profits, lost data, lost business, reputational harm, or failed transactions.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AD18, its directors, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, service providers, and agents from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising from your use of the Platform, your posted content, your conduct, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of applicable law.
We may cooperate with valid subpoenas, court orders, law enforcement requests, regulatory requests, payment processor investigations, or legal obligations.
Reports involving minors, exploitation, trafficking, imminent harm, fraud, or serious safety risks may be escalated immediately to appropriate authorities.
Records may be preserved and disclosed where required or permitted by law, including for legal compliance, tax, payment processing, fraud prevention, safety, moderation, investigations, chargebacks, disputes, or audit purposes.
Certain records may be retained longer than twenty-four (24) months where required for tax, payment, legal, fraud prevention, or compliance obligations.
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in law, Platform operations, payment processing, moderation practices, categories, features, freemium rules, or compliance requirements.
The "Last Updated" date indicates the current version. Continued use of the Platform after updated Terms are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the Province of Ontario, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Platform will be subject to the courts of Ontario, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
